Sunset Grill

Little greasy, but that's part of the charm really. Been coming here since I was a toddler, it's stayed consistent (I even remember when the back section was for smoking 👵👵). Super cheap, pretty fast service. Servers are often sweet, if a bit busy.

Very professional and kind food is good prices better

Last week was our first time we came to that fine restaurant. But It is no doubt not the last time. We had great time with the generous service, with the finest cooking and wine and with the decent payment. We will definitely come back again.

This spot is my favored. I eat in many restaurants but to this one I go the most. The team is very cordial and the cooking they cook is so flavorful. I never miss an opportunity to have a decent dinner in this place. I highly recommend this place.

Since this place is near my job, I thought of making a random visit to see what it was all about and I'm so glad that I did! The atmosphere is inviting, the employees are kind and last but not least, the food is really good!

Best place for breakfast in the east end for many years.

The service was mixed, one server was really nice, but the main one that was serving us was unbelievably rude.The options were incredibly limited, with no pictures and snappy replies when asking specifics about dishes.The portions were enormous, which is always welcome, and it was tasty so at least that was good. The decor and furniture were also home-like, which created a comfortable ambiance. The prices were fair for the gigantic quantities!Overall, this breakfast place is “alright”, but when compared to Breakfast Champions such as Cora, it plummets in customer service, item variety, and theme management (the food was all plain with no complimentary fruits or design or theme, whereas Cora decorated their dishes with love and designs and fruits).

I regularly come grabbing some food in this spot. I liked the fast service and well made dishes. Kudos.

The food at this Sunset Grill location is pretty standards, by that I mean you will know what to expect if you have visited any other Sunset Grills. The staffs at this location are friendly, and it never seem to be busy to a point that you have to really wait for a seat. The only small caveat is that they have an open kitchen in the middle of the restaurant, and it can make the air feel a bit thick (greasy) when you stay in. A good choice if you are craving for greasy spoon.

The meals and service were above my expectations. I truly enjoyed the ambience of this place. Awesome spot to take the family out for dinner.

I have been going here for close to 20 years. Same place.same food. Same staff. I love it. Wish the lumberjack never got removed from the menu.

Food tasted great and serving size was amazing. As in almost all Sunset grill, service was relaxed and a bit slow. It's not a place to get a 'quick breakfast' before going to work.

This spot is worth trying. They serve large portions for affordable rates. Regularly clean and with fantastic vibes. Will come visit again.

At the first moment you step in that restaurant team give you a pleasant feeling. Very warm stuff, it is a happy restaurant to to go out with buddies or with your date. yummy food, professional chief cook and stuff, comfortable cost and nice service. Warmly recommended.

This is clearly one of the finest restaurants in the region. Whenever I visit this place I am incredibly glad. They keep their very high level service and the topmost level of dishes they serve. You will be always satisfied with this restaurant. Warmly recommended.

Food arrived quickly, and was alright while I was eating it, and service was not the best. Then again, I’ve been here many times before so I’m aware of how it is and it’s alright.The problem I had yesterday however is that I believe I may have gotten food poisoning from what I ate there, so there’s that. Hope to see improvement in the future though.

Typical visit, we are regular customers. Had our regular breakfast, friendly staff. Awesome!

I asked for an omelette with hot peppers on half because I wanted to share with a child. The chef made me two omlettes, one without peppers at no extra charge. Their prices are good and the food excellent. The service us top notch.

Great diner with extensive breakfast menu. Spacious and comfortably designed interior with fun, friendly staff. Best peameal sandwich for just over $7. Located on the Danforth with easy access to transit. Cesars are a hit and they serve a decent domestic bottle beer array. Great place to eat and drink away a weekend hangover. Try the eggs Benedict too!

The server took my order. She delivered it and then I never saw her again. The fish & chips are way overpriced for frozen food and would've been better if I had a server to bring some tarter sauce

Food is fine and get reasonable value. But the service is awful. I've been several times because it's convenient. But every time... yikes. The waitresses are reliably rude, inattentive, mostly vacant. Often plates of food are essentially dropped onto the table — perhaps to express annoyance? There's usually odd behaviour too, like when I watched (while waiting to pay) one of them come up and kick another in the leg for jokes. Who does that?(Also: the men’s bathroom is awkward at best: the urinal is *immediately* adjacent to the door, so that if anyone enters the door hits you.)

Wanted 3.5 stars... oh well. Giving this Toronto institution the benefit of a doubt. Perhaps an off day. Good comfort food. Lacklustre service; wad it that I didn't order a full breakfast? That I'm not a regular? To me, a diner not refilling your coffee cup is a red flag. It didn't matter to me that my order was initially wrong. I never saw the mistake, and I am a patient person. Willing to try this place again, but only once more.

Tried this spot once with a friend and I am hooked since then. I liked the great character and delightful dishes and drinks. 5 stars from me.

I've been going to this Sunset Grill off and on for years, they make excellent omelets. Today's Great Canadian Omelet was amazing, that's with cheddar (real not processed)bacon and mushrooms, and the service was as always, impeccable. That said, the home fries, usually really good, were full of rotten black spots and tasted slightly moldy. I couldn't find even one home fry that tasted normal. Even still, the omelet and dark rye bread more than made up for that.

Fast service on even a busy day. The restaurant is larger than you would expect from the exterior. It is spacious and you aren't breathing down the neck of the table next to you. The staff are quite friendly and treat everyone in a very respectful manner. Our server was very sweet and checked on us regularly.We had some great breakfast during our visit and enjoyed our table by the window. My only asks are that they would have maple syrup at the table and bring the bill to you instead of having to get up and go pay

It was horrible. My daughter and I went for breakfast. The waitress was rude. Told us to hurry up so she could get to other guest. We has just sat down. Once our food was down that was it. She never came back until we asked for the check. The guy collecting dirty dishes didn't even wait till my daughter was done. He say you done with that. Never again. Food was ok

The restaurant is fantastic and broad, the meals was delicious and the prices were very fair. rapidly, productive service and very amiable waiters. Recommended.
